| Electric scooter or gas scooter. Choosing the right scooter for your enjoyment. When shopping for scooters one of the first questions everyone asks is “what type of scooter do I want?” while that question may seem simple to most people, the answer is quite another story. Scooters come in many different types, styles and sizes and choosing the right one could lead to some confusing and frustrating moments. This short guide is designed to help you chose the most practical scooter for your maximum enjoyment. There are basically two types of motorized scooters that appeal to the majority of scooter enthusiasts, gas and electric. While gas scooters typically have longer range and more power, electric scooters typically cost less in terms of maintenance and operating costs as well as overall purchase price and offer the convenience of plug-in recharging. The one thing that each type of scooter shares in common is the ease and flexibility of customizing or as some prefer, personalizing the look and style. There are endless numbers of after-market accessories for every type and model of scooter available. The only limitation on customization is the creativity of the individual. Choosing the right scooter is strictly a personal choice and should not be taken lightly. However, choosing the wrong scooter is not really a bad choice as both gas and electric are fun and convenient as a mode of transportation and leisure. It is important to get a scooter with enough power to enjoy yourself while riding it. Weight limitations and power ranges are important to keep in mind when choosing your scooter. It's also important to look at range of travel between fueling stops. If you plan on riding farther distances on a regular basis make sure you check the manufacturers specifications. A smooth ride is always important so check out the suspension If there are a lot of hills in your area find out what the climbing capability for your scooter is. Most manufacturers will include this information. Stopping ability is another important area to keep in mind. Many scooters come with front and rear anti-lock braking system, but be sure to check for this before you buy. Price is one of the last things you should consider when choosing a new scooter. There are many things more important then price and choosing the right scooter can give you years of enjoyment for your investment. Shopping with the lowest price in mind can often leave you wanting more. With that said, scooter prices are relatively inexpensive compared to other forms of transportation and it's difficult to spend too much when buying a scooter. |
